From the creators of Cut the Rope comes Pudding Monsters, a puzzle game that overflows with character and charm. The objective is to slide these adorable little globs of pudding across the screen to stick them together into one 'Mega Monster.' It sounds simple, but since the monsters only stop when they hit an obstacle or another monster, it becomes a brilliant exercise in spatial reasoning.

The visuals are top-tier, with vibrant colors and expressive animations that make the monsters feel alive. The 'stickiness' mechanic is incredibly satisfying, and the variety of monster types—like the ones that leave a trail of slime—adds layers of complexity as you go. It strikes a great balance between being accessible for kids and genuinely challenging for adults in the later 'star' objectives.

I usually have a low tolerance for games that look like they were designed for toddlers, but ZeptoLab knows how to build a puzzle. Pudding Monsters starts off way too easy—the kind of stuff you can solve with one hand while drinking coffee—but it eventually bites back. The mechanics of sliding and sticking require you to actually think a few moves ahead, which is more than I can say for most 'top-tier' mobile games these days.

It’s a bit too short for my liking, and the 'star' system feels like a forced way to make you replay levels you've already solved. I'm also not a fan of the 'hints' for purchase; games should be solved with brains, not credit cards. Still, the logic is sound and the performance is flawless. It’s a 74—good work, but don't expect a masterpiece. It’s a solid weekend filler for when the main PC rig is down.
