I’ve played Boggle on a kitchen table for decades. Putting it on an iPad doesn't change the fact that it's a simple word search. The 'Arcade Edition' means no ads, which I appreciate, but there is zero attempt to iterate on the formula. The animations are basic, the sound effects are functional, and the solo mode gets boring after ten minutes.
It’s a fine inclusion for families who want to play together on a tablet, but as a 'video game' for a solo player, it’s remarkably thin. It’s the digital equivalent of a dusty box in a closet. It works, but it doesn't excite.
